IDOLS WHO STOLE THE SHOW AT THE SM TOWN WONDERLAND 2018

Halloween is not much of a big occasion in Korea to be celebrated unlike in the United States, however SM Town Entertainment makes an effort to celebrate such occasion annually in which lots of fans look forward to. Because to be honest, don't we love to see our idols dress up for Halloween in their spookiest, funniest and, wittiest costumes? Some even take it to the extremes by putting on so much effort (and money) to pull off a great costume. (Yes, we're looking at you Kibum and Chanyeol)

So we kept an eye on SM Town's annual Halloween Wonderland. Check out who stole the show by totally nailing their Halloween outfits last October 31.

Red Velvet’s Yeri as a Hershey's Kisses

The spooky night is sprinkled with some sweetness from our chocolate fairy Yeri. Dressed as a Hershey Kisses. Yeri’s sparkling dress perfectly resembles the chocolate foil packaging together with her cone-shaped hat that reflects the chocolate's distinct form. Completing her look is the ribbon attached to her hat which reminds us of the same colored strip we love to pull from our favorite chocolate kisses. Now, whose craving for some Hershey Kisses? We know you do!

NCT’s Jaehyun and Jungwoo as Jack and Rose

The night may have been filled with a ton of chilling and creepy looks but romance seemed to find its way. NCT's Jaehyun and Jungwoo were dressed as Jack Dawson and Rose DeWitt Bukater from the iconic romance tragedy film, Titanic. Jungwoo primps Rose with his velvet dress matched with a long wavy wig, while Jaehyun wore a white sleeved button down paired with trousers and Jack Dawson's signature suspenders. On their Instagram account, they playfully reenacted the infamous “King of the World” scene of the said movie. Now this ship is definitely not sinking.

Girls Generation’s Sunny as Nagini

Halloween wouldn’t be complete without the scary creatures that we oh so truly despise in every movie or series we watch from time to time. Sunny from Girls Generation arrived at the party dressed as Nagini, the terrifying snake of Lord Voldemort. Sunny’s scale patterned dress gives off the venomous spirit together with the face and body paint of snake skin. She even wore contact lenses to perfectly accentuate Nagini’s vicious glares.

SHINee’s Onew as Jim Carrey’s The Mask

Outrageous and extravagant costumes really are noteworthy every Halloween season, however, a simple suit and tie could still give the same feeling. SHINee’s leader, Onew proved it through his Jim Carrey’s The Mask outfit. Being known from his Colonel Sanders get up way back in 2015, Onew transformed into Stanley Ipkiss with his yellow suit and hat. He sported a fake cleft chin and a bald cap to complete the overall look, truly he perfectly depicts the film’s iconic magical mask which is possessed by the spirit of the Norse god Loki. No doubt, Onew nailed it again this year.

Super Junior’s Leeteuk as a Maid

We're feeling a little déjà vu here because it seems like the Super Junior leader used his SNL 2017’s costume as a seductive maid. Don't we all admire a resourceful leader? His look made everyone turn their heads the entire night. Who wouldn’t anyway, he’s gorgeous!

NCT’s Ten as Mona Lisa

From being a gorgeous man to a beautiful work of art, Ten of NCT literally went all out with his costume. His transformation as Mona Lisa is definitely one for the books in this year’s party, it even created a buzz on social media. Some people even argued online that he was either cosplaying Produce 101 Season 2’s Jang Moonbok or Tangled’s Mother Gothel. Hate to break it to you pals, he was Mona Lisa.

EXO’s Baekhyun as a Fairy Mummy

Byun Baekhyun of EXO transformed from Jang Chen (The Outlaws) to a Fairy Mummy in this year’s SM Halloween Party showing his versatility. He didn’t settle with a plain old mummy look, instead he showed how extra he truly is by sporting fairy lights around his mummy costume together with a captivating eye make-up.

NCT’s Chenle as Pennywise

The NCT member really set the bar quite high this Halloween when he dressed up as Pennywise from the movie IT. At first glance you wouldn’t even think that it’s him. The details of the costume were perfect, his name trended not only in Korea but in other countries too. Well done, Chenle!

Girls Generation’s Taeyeon as Annabelle

Kim Taeyeon deserves a character development award from last year’s Nemo to Annabelle the haunted doll. From being an innocent fish to a terrifying doll, she literally slayed being Annabelle. Her costume even got featured on the Warner Bros. Entertainment’s Instagram story. We’re hoping Taeyeon would keep this energy up from now on.

f(x)’s Luna as Groot

Source: SM Entertainment's Official Instagram account @smtown

This Groot costume was the talk of the town during the SM Wonderland Party 2018. The costume made everyone think of which idol might be inside that hefty costume. Many SM stans made bets that it was Chanyeol of EXO but sike! It was actually Luna of f(x). Some said that she couldn't eat or drink the whole time, poor Luna. But hey, that’s what we call commitment.

SHINee’s Key as Voldemort

Source: SHINee’s Key Official Instagram account @bumkeyk and @SHINeeCuba Twitter account

Key makes sure that he will deliver the most unique costumes every year. From being Ronald McDonald to being the infamous Marge Simpson, he has never failed to surprise us up to date. Despite his prior commitment, he made sure that he wouldn’t miss the party, SHINee’s Onew brought a standee of Key as Voldemort and made sure that Key's presence is alive and known to all this Halloween. We kind of like to believe that he owns Halloween, don't you think?;

And that's it for SM Town Wonderland 2018! These artists really take Halloween to the next level and we're sure enough that there are lots more to come; with copious amounts of make up and prosthetics we presume. What are your thoughts? Think we've missed some artists on the list? Let us know in the comments!
